Answers to the questions that come up most — and a direct line to us for everything else.
ContactPix has three tabs: Contacts, Sync, and Settings. Almost everything you need is on Sync.
On first launch ContactPix explains why it needs your address book, then shows the system prompt. Full access lets it match everyone; limited access restricts it to the contacts you pick, and you can widen that later from the banner at the top of the Contacts tab.
Open Sync › Social Networks and tap Connect next to a provider. You'll sign in with that provider directly — ContactPix never sees your password.
Work through the match review queue on the Sync tab, then tap Sync Now. Progress appears live, and results are grouped into updated, skipped, and failed when it finishes.
An iPhone running iOS 27 or later. ContactPix is an iPhone app and doesn't run on Mac.
No. Every proposed photo goes through the review queue first, where you see the contact's current photo next to the proposed one and choose accept or reject. Only accepted matches are written during a sync, and your decisions are remembered so you're never asked twice.
You also control what happens when a contact already has a photo — see the overwrite policy question below.
Open the Settings tab and choose an overwrite policy:
Matching works in tiers. A shared email address or phone number is confirmed automatically. An exact name match — ignoring word order, capitalisation, and accents — is treated as probable. Anything less certain is flagged for you to review, and weak candidates are dropped entirely.
If a contact has nothing in common with the profile (different name, no shared email or phone), there's nothing to match on. Use Link Social Profile… on the contact's detail screen to connect them yourself.
Instagram isn't enabled yet, so it's shown as Coming Soon rather than offering a Connect button that couldn't complete. LinkedIn, X, and Telegram can sign in, but their profile-photo clients are still being built — Google and Facebook are the two providers currently delivering photos end to end.
Facebook's "Limited Login" mode issues a token that its Graph API won't accept, so ContactPix can't read your profile photo with it. Sign in again and choose the option that grants full access rather than limited login. If your device or account enforces Limited Login, Facebook photo sync isn't possible until that changes.
ContactPix refreshes tokens automatically where the provider supports it. If a provider revokes a token, or it can't be refreshed — for example after you change your password or remove the app from your account settings — you'll see a Reconnect prompt in the Social Networks list and in the Sync dashboard. Tap it and sign in again.
Updated means the contact's photo was written. Skipped usually means your overwrite policy told ContactPix to leave an existing photo alone, or the profile had no usable photo — auto-generated placeholder avatars are treated as "no photo". Failed shows the reason, most often an expired connection or a network problem.
Photos are written into your address book like any other contact photo, so you can edit or remove them in Apple's Contacts app — open the contact, tap Edit, then change or delete the photo.
Your contacts stay on your device. ContactPix has no accounts and no GeekLingo backend — it talks only to the social networks you connect, and it stores sign-in tokens in the iOS Keychain. Full detail is in the privacy policy.
Tap a connected provider in Sync › Social Networks and confirm the disconnect — its token is deleted from the Keychain. You can also revoke ContactPix at the provider (for example, on Google's Account permissions page). Deleting the app removes every token, setting, and decision it stored. Photos already saved to a contact remain in your address book until you change them.
ContactPix works through Apple's Contacts framework, so it sees the same contacts your Contacts app does, across whichever accounts you have set up on the device. Changes are saved back the same way and sync through that account as usual.
Yes. Sync candidates are gathered without holding every contact's full-resolution photo in memory at once, so address books of a thousand contacts and up stay comfortable.
Email info@geeklingo.net and a human will get back to you, usually within two business days (Brisbane, Australia time).
Never send us your passwords or sign-in codes. We will never ask for them, and ContactPix never sees them either.
