What ContactPix touches, why it needs it, and where it stays.
The short version. ContactPix has no user accounts and no GeekLingo server. Your contacts are read and written on your iPhone. Profile data and photos are fetched from the networks you connect straight to your device. Sign-in tokens are kept in the iOS Keychain. We don't run analytics, advertising, or tracking inside the app, and we never sell your data.
This policy applies to the ContactPix iOS app (bundle identifier
com.geeklingo.contactpix), published by GeekLingo, based in
Australia. GeekLingo is the data controller for the limited processing
described below. You can reach us at

Section "This website" covers geeklingo.net separately, because the website — unlike the app — does use analytics.
ContactPix asks for permission to access your contacts using Apple's Contacts framework. It reads names, phone numbers, email addresses, postal addresses, and existing photos so it can display your address book, match contacts to social profiles, and write a new photo onto a contact you've approved. If you grant limited access, ContactPix only ever sees the contacts you selected.
Your contacts are processed on your device. They are not transmitted to GeekLingo, and they are not sent to any social network — matching happens locally by comparing profile data we've already fetched against the contacts on your phone.
When you connect an account, ContactPix requests only the permissions it needs to identify you and retrieve a profile photo:

The data returned — names, email addresses, phone numbers where the provider supplies them, and profile photo URLs — is used solely to match profiles to your contacts and to download the photos you approve. Photos are downloaded directly from the provider to your device.
Sign-in uses each provider's own OAuth flow in a system-provided web authentication session (or, for Facebook, the official Facebook Login SDK). ContactPix never sees or stores your password. The access and refresh tokens the provider issues are stored only in the iOS Keychain on your device.
Your photo-overwrite preference, your accept/reject decisions on proposed matches, and a summary of your last sync (date and counts) are stored in the app's own storage on your device so the app behaves consistently between launches.
ContactPix's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. Google user data is used only to provide the photo-matching and photo-sync features described above, is never used for advertising, and is never transferred to third parties except as required by law. You can review and revoke ContactPix's access at any time from your Google Account permissions page.
ContactPix talks directly to the providers you choose to connect. Their handling of your data is governed by their own policies:
ContactPix includes the Facebook Login SDK, which is required to sign in to Facebook on iOS. It is used for authentication only.
Some providers only accept an https:// address as an OAuth redirect
target. For those, ContactPix uses addresses under
https://www.geeklingo.net/oauth/, which the app claims through
Apple's Associated Domains mechanism so iOS hands the response back to the app
rather than opening a web page. These addresses exist purely to complete the
sign-in handshake. No sign-in data is stored or logged by us for the purpose of
this app.
Because we hold no copy of your data, there is nothing for us to delete on your behalf. If you'd like to ask us a question about this, email info@geeklingo.net.
Depending on where you live — including under the Australian Privacy Act, the EU/UK GDPR, and the CCPA/CPRA — you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your personal information, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. In ContactPix's case those rights are largely exercised directly on your device, since the data stays there. For anything else, contact info@geeklingo.net and we'll respond within 30 days.
ContactPix is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country) and we do not knowingly process their personal information.
geeklingo.net uses Google Analytics to understand aggregate traffic — pages viewed, approximate location, browser, and device type. This is separate from the app, which contains no analytics. You can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. If you email us, we keep your message so we can reply to it.
If ContactPix's data handling changes, we'll update this page and move the "last updated" date above. Material changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
