Trading in its purest form will always be a numbers game. The more you know your numbers, the more money you can potentially make. You need to know the right time to buy and sell coins or cryptocurrencies. This is where charting tools can help.

Charts give you the raw data you need to thoroughly analyze the coins of your choice. With these charts, you can gather information on the price and volume fluctuations of a coin over a period (day, weeks, months etc.).

If you want to base your decisions on facts, you need a service like TradingView. It’s a platform that offers top-grade charting service while also hosting one of the web’s best community of technical traders and analysts. In fact, TradingView is so popular, most of the crypto exchanges (Binance, Kucoin, etc…) integrate their charting APIs into their trading platforms.

What is TradingView?

TradingView is a cloud-based financial analysis and charting platform. It has an easy to use user interface that makes it perfect for beginners, but it also provides numerous advanced charting features for experienced traders.

It’s a browser-based platform so it can be accessed from anywhere, even from your workplace. You can also access the platform via your mobile browsers. So, you don’t have to worry about complex installations and system compatibilities anymore.

Their platform is also very flexible. You can create charts for Forex, Equities, Futures, and cryptocurrencies.

But one of their more attractive features is their active community of over 3 million traders. You can share ideas and plans with them based on the analysis you do on the TradingView platform.

Its best features

TradingView was just a simple charting platform back in 2011. But over the years, they’ve been very responsive to customer requests, and they’ve added pretty much every tool a trader needs to have to make detailed market analysis and profitable buy/sell decisions.

Even without all the extra features, they are still one of the best charting services on the web. The platform generates detailed HTML5 charts for just about anything a trader can think of.

Do you want to analyse historical price patterns of a coin? Or do you just want to check on its current price? Do you want to compare its price and volume over the past few weeks?

No matter what your requirement is, the platform can easily generate the required chart. On top of that, they offer multiple display layouts for the charts as well. Some of the layouts are only for subscribing members though.

You can also configure instant alerts in the form of SMS, popups and E-mails for the coins you are watching. If you set up the right alerts, you’ll never have to miss out on a profitable buy or sell again.

They also have a stock screener feature that lets you filter coins based on a wide variety of criteria. If you want to find promising start-ups that are still cheap but have made steady profits over the years, this should be your go-to tool.

One of their best features is their customized technical analysis feature that offers 100+ pre-loaded studies and signals. But you can also use their Pine script to create and share your known studies.

Their integrated trading features are limited though. They currently only support a limited number of brokers. There is a pretty good chance that your crypto exchange of choice is not one of them. No big deal, it just means having 2 browser tabs/windows open. One to analyze and the other to perform the trade.

That said, they have been adding more and more brokers over the years, so things might change for the better in the future.

Trading View Discount/Coupon

Like with anything, you never want to pay full price but when I was hunting around for coupons to use I simply could not find any. I did however, discover that you could obtain a discount directly from them. At the time of writing this is what I did in order to get a discount:

  1. Setup an account on TradingView
  2. Start a trial of the subscription you are interested in
  3. Don’t pay/confirm the subscription until the last 1 – 2 days of the trial period

What happens at the moment is during the trial period they will send you xx% discount offers on the 12 monthly payment of the subscription you chose. This percentage discount increases as you near the trial end date. Not sure how long this promotional offer will run for but if you can get this awesome service for a few dollars less, why not.
