Skullcandy Jib True Earbud Review

If you like music that is a bit heavy on the bass, then a pair of Skullcandy earbuds will always deliver on the promise. The Jib True are wireless earbuds that look and feel great. Also, their sound profile is well-balanced with an extra kick in the bass department.

Design & Quality

If you like stealthy earbuds, you will love the Jib True. You get two short, completely wireless earbuds that come with a stealthy case that feels rather exceptional. Both the case and the earbuds are made of high-quality plastic that feels very sturdy and they should survive a few minor drops without any issues.

If the stealthy black look is not for you, you can get the blue colour option that comes with red ear tips. The earbuds sit well in the ear, though they stick out a bit because they are on the tall side.

You also get IPX4 sweat and water resistance, so working out in these shouldn’t be a problem. Just try not to swim with them.

Battery Life

The earbuds and case have a combined battery life of 22 hours, which is expected with a case of this size. The earbuds themselves make use of their rather large size, so you get about 6 hours of listening time before having to charge them. That leaves the case with an additional 16 hours of battery life.

Just like any other pair of Skullcandy earphones, the Jib True are bass-heavy. This is especially popular with people who listen to a lot of hip-hop and EDM. The rest of the sound profile is well-balanced and a bit flat, which is completely fine.

When it comes to phone calls and the built-in microphones (one in each earbud), they are totally usable. Just like with any other wireless earbud, there will be some wind noise if you are outside, but the sound quality is surprisingly clear.

Also, there is some delay between the screen and audio, but that is true for any pair of Bluetooth earbuds. Also, the lag only happens occasionally and far more expensive earbuds can have worse lag than the Jib True.

Final Thoughts

The Skullcandy Jib True is a great pair of wireless in-ear buds that won’t fall out on their own despite their shape and size. The sound quality is great and you get a ton of bass. And the build quality is fantastic too. All in all, these are a great pair of wireless earbuds.
