Logitech MX Master 2S

Many of us older folk that are non-gamers don’t really give much thought to computer mice. A mouse is just another computer tool in our daily life. We point, click and move on. But should you need to replace your mouse, you will quickly realise that the world has moved on from that corded 2-button accessory.

Take Logitech’s latest productivity mouse. The Logitech MX Master 2S comes with 7 buttons and 2 scroll wheels. Designed with efficiency and comfort in mind, the MX Master 2S is quickly shaping up to be one of the best non-gaming mice out there.

Design and feel

Side buttons and scroll

The Logitech MX Master 2S comes with a perfect finish. Its dimensions are 126.0 mm x 85.7 mm x 48.4 mm, so it isn’t the most compact mouse out there, but it still sits comfortably in most hands, even the small ones.

It is ergonomically shaped and was sculpted for comfort, though it was primarily designed with right-handers in mind. It fits naturally in your hand. Left-handers might not find the mouse as comfortable as advertised though.

It has the usual left and right mouse buttons, but one of its defining features is its second scroll wheel. The second wheel is placed where your thumb rests, and you can use it for horizontal scrolling. Again, Logitech has taken great care in making things as easy as possible for their customers.

It has 7 buttons in total, which include the forward and back buttons, thumb pad, mode shift and computer selector buttons. Except for the left and right buttons, every other button is highly customizable, so you can personalize them according to your needs.

Features and performance

This mouse comes with a host of features to make your day more productive. One of its best features is its Logitech flow system. With this feature, you can use one mouse to control up to 3 computers.

You can seamlessly switch control from one screen to the other with just a button click. It also allows you to transfer files and images from one monitor to the other.

The Logitech MX Masters 2S lives up to its name as Logitech’s flagship product, because it has some of the best quality tracking on the market. The mouse features a 4000 DPI precision sensor that tracks on virtually any surface, no matter how rough or smooth it is (yes, that includes glass, carpets and wood).

Though it’s marketed as a productivity mouse, it is great as a gaming mouse too. Granted it won’t be the best mouse for gaming, you can use it to play most of the non-FPS games out there.

Another great feature we found was battery life. You won’t have to worry about your wireless mouse powering down during a busy workday ever again, because a fully charged Logitech MX Masters 2S will last for up to 70 days! Even if it powers down, Logitech claim that you can get a days’ charge again in just 3 minutes.

The speed-adaptive scrolling feature is great too. It auto-shifts from normal scrolling speed to hyper speed. Took me a little to get used to from my usual slow scrolling.

Final Thoughts

The Logitech MX Masters 2S truly is one of the best non-gaming, productivity mice out there. Its pros far outweigh its cons. From its seamless functioning to its thoughtful design, it will certainly make the modern office-goers stressful day a little better.
