Huawei Watch GT

The Huawei Watch GT is the latest wearable released by Huawei this year. Sporting a traditional watch look and feel, the Huawei Watch GT was one of the hottest fitness wearables anticipated this year. Promising long battery life, stunning display quality and high performance, the Watch GT certainly set the bar high.

Classy Look

The Huawei Watch GT looks like any other classical watch. It measures at around 10.6mm thickness and strong thanks to its ceramic bezel design with a stainless steel shell. However, unlike a traditional watch, the GT is also a smart wearable device. In other words, an extension of your smartphone. Huawei believe that they have designed this to suit today’s “urban explorers” – stylish, functional and most of all, a battery life to match.

Simple Display

The first thing we noticed and loved about the Huawei Watch GT is the display. The 1.39” AMOLED screen is bright and sharp. The touch sensitivity seemed to be just right as well. The large screen size made it easy to quickly check your vitals during a workout. Likewise, the Huawei interface is simple and minimalist, and you can see all the features at a quick glance. Easy enough for users of any level of technical competency to master.

Fitness Tracking

The Huawei Watch GT is primarily a fitness wearable. It’s great for tracking vitals and other health metrics to aid you in meeting your fitness goals. For example, you can monitor your heart rate when doing cardio and track your sleep activity if you have problems staying asleep at night.

Battery Life

With regular use, the Huawei Watch GT can go for around a month on a full charge. However, the average time is around two weeks. It will all depend on the activity and your usage rate. The more you use, the faster the battery will drain.

If you are planning to use the watch for GPS and other activities, it will require charging within a few weeks. With normal use, the watch should be able to go for a month after a full charge.

GPS and Sport Tracking

In addition to being able to track your fitness metrics, you can also use the GPS tracking features of the GT. This makes it a great digital assistant on those long hikes. Since it is lightweight, you can wear it for all types of tracking activities without it getting in the way.

App limitation

The Huawei Watch GT is a fitness related wearable. As such, it does not have the depth and variety of applications you can find on other Smart Watches such as the Samsung Gear or Apple Watch. That said, if you are only interested in the fitness aspects, this has pretty much most of what you would need.

Verdict

The Huawei Watch GT is a great watch for fitness, sports, and everyday use. It has a beautiful look, and you will appreciate the sleek modern design. Other fitness watches have a sporty and bulky look, but the Huawei Watch GT has a more minimalist appearance. As long as you are not looking for an Apple Watch replacement in terms of app diversity, the Huawei Watch GT will do the job just fine.
