Server 2012 R2 Fails to Install on HP MicroServer

We reported a little while back the issues people were experiencing with their Gen 7 Microserver and Windows Server 2012 R2. HP have now released a firmware update which is believed to have resolved the issue.

Problems Fixed:

Addressed an issue where Microsoft Windows 2012 R2 may stop responding while booting the operating system.

  1. I can confirm that this Bios update does fix the problem for Windows 8.1 and Windows Server 2012 R2.
    However there is no hacked version readily available yet, although one German user has reported success hacking it. The main reason for the hack is if you want to run an SSD in the ODD port or get full speed from the eSata port.
