In an earlier Google+ post, Google’s web performance engineer Ilya Grigorik, showed us that Brotli is ready for prime time. Brotli is a new compression algorithm that is expected to deliver some impressive gains over the existing engine called Zopfli. We should hopefully see this with the next release of Chrome and it is hoped that other browsers follow soon after.
