In a recent announcement, Epson Australia have official launched the new 17” Epson SureColor P5070 inkjet printer. Using the latest in imaging technology, they hope to reset the bar in printing for the desktop photography, design and proofing markets.
The SureColor P5070 is built around Epson’s PrecisionCore TFP printhead and UltraChrome HDX 10 colour pigment ink set. Both these technologies promise to deliver brighter colours, darker blacks and efficiencies in running costs.
“The SureColor P5070 is the latest addition to the Epson SureColor product line, which is bringing Epson’s photographic technology to the next level. Sitting above the popular Epson SureColor SC-P800 in the range, the SureColor P5070 packs all of the SureColor printing technology into a 17-inch desktop model, providing photographers and graphic designers with the best imaging technology has to offer.” – Craig Heckenberg, General Manager, Business Division, Epson Australia.
The UltraChrome HDX ink cartridges are an improvement on previous models with better core pigments and new black inks that are approximately 1.5x denser than the previous generation. That said, the SureColor P5070 supports 2 different configurations. The first uses “Light Light Black” and the second, “Violet” ink. Epson believe that the first configuration will help to deliver smooth and neutral tonal transitions, especially with black and white prints. The later provides access to a wider colour gamut and delivers 99% PANATONE coverage.
Features of the Epson SureColor P5070 include:
- Exceptional Print Permanence
- Remarkable Detail
- Epson Precision Dot Screening Algorithm
- Borderless Printing
- Optional SpectroProofer
- LCD Control Panel
The Epson SureColor P5070 is already available with a RRP of AUD$2,995 via the Epson Australia website or an authorized dealer. A range of bundles including additional cover may also be available depending on the dealer.
