Recently, D-Link A/NZ launched its brand-new AX1500 Wi-Fi 6 Router known as the DIR-X1560. It’s designed with those working or studying from their up-to-date smart home in mind.
This nifty little device provides dual-band Wi-Fi with a maximum of four streams — perfect for households who tend to stream 4K, video call their friends or game at the same time. The developers of the DIR-X1560 have managed to pack a boatload of high-spec technologies (1024 QAM, Multiple-User MIMO, etc) into their router to enhance your home’s connectivity.
Let’s take a deeper dive into the capabilities of this gadget.
Voice Recognition Technology
One of the most profound features of the DIR-X1560 (in our opinion) is voice recognition technology.
As you know, voice activation has played a major part in recent technology as developers try to streamline everyone’s user experience. D-Link didn’t forget this.
To disable or enable Wi-Fi access, reboot the device or check the login information, you just have to talk to it via a smart speaker (Alexa or Google Assistant for example). Thus, allowing you to continue your day without having to take time out to fix the Wi-Fi.
WI-Fi 6 Technology
With Wi-Fi 6, you’re given two major technologies: MU-MIMO (otherwise known as Multiple-User MIMO) and OFDMA (professionally known as Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access).
OFDMA hands you the ability to connect up to 4 channels simultaneously without slowing the bandwidth or connectivity capacity. You’ll never have to worry about network queues or congestion ever again!
This router supports speeds up to 1.5Gbps. For those on the 5GHz band, you should expect 1200 Mbps but for those on the 2.4GHz band, you will receive 300 Mbps.
Thanks to the technologies we spoke about earlier, the speed is never slowed by multiple users or those trying to stream 4K games or movies.
What exactly is QoS? It stands for Quality of Service but in this case, it’s intelligent Quality of Service. How does one know a device has intelligent QoS we hear you ask? Well, it automatically knows which of the 4 network channels takes priority! Essentially, this takes the evil out of having busy bandwidth.
Easy Setup Guarantee
Routers are notorious for confusing their buyers — especially those who aren’t so tech-savvy. Thankfully, D-Link has managed to combat this by providing helpful how-to guides on their dedicated app.

The Bottom Line
While there are, of course, downsides to D-Link’s new Wi-Fi 6 router, we’ve found that the overall user experience is thoroughly enjoyable. The biggest plus for us? Without a doubt, the dedicated app and super-handy voice recognition technology!
