The Asus ROG Swift 360 Hz PG259QNR is one of the best monitors that money can buy. If you are a professional gamer, few monitors come close to the PG259QNR. You get a gorgeous FHD IPS panel and a GTG response time of just 1 millisecond. And it’s even HDR10 compatible, so your games will look incredible with the great colours and brightness.
The monitor has a 24.5″ FHD (1920x1080p) IPS panel, a contrast ratio of 1000:1, 1 ms gray-to-gray (GTG) response time, a 100% sRGB color gamut, 10-bit color, and G-Sync. But the real star of the show is the 360 Hz refresh rate. In other words, it’s 50% faster than an already great 240 Hz eSports monitor.
In addition to the monitor, you also get a very cool gaming stand that is characteristic of all high-end Asus ROG monitors. You also get a desk C clamp, Displayport, HDMI, and USB cables, a power cord, and some documents. One cool addition is that you get a color pre-calibration report so that you can adjust the colors accordingly.
The PG259QNR has a standard 16:9 aspect ratio and it has a flat display, which is still better for eSports gaming when compared to curved displays. The display has a smooth texture that isn’t very reflective, so if you have a window behind you, it won’t be too much of an issue.
The side and top bezels are extremely thin, but the bottom bezel is somewhat thicker, which is true for all modern gaming monitors. There is also the Asus ROG logo in the center of the bottom bezel.
The three-legged monitor stand looks very cool and it has a matte dark gray and bronze finish, so it should fit nicely into pretty much any setup. The stand has a sliding mechanism so you can adjust the height. You can also tilt it quite a bit.
The back of the monitor has a huge ROG RGB logo. The monitor controls are on the right side and you get a very cool bronze joystick and large buttons to configure it.
The I/O has a lot of useful ports, as follows:
- Power Port
- Headphone jack
- HDMI 2.0 port
- DisplayPort 1.4
- 2x USB 3.2 Type-A
- USB Type-B
The only downside is that you don’t get the new HDMI 2.1 port, but you should be using the DisplayPort with your PC anyway.
As you probably expected, gaming on this gorgeous ROG monitor is fantastic. The IPS panel has fantastic viewing angles and colors. And HDR10 makes everything look incredible. When you play games or watch movies that support HDR, you will be impressed every time. The shadows look deep and the highlights are realistic without looking blown out/overexposed.
If you are a streamer or YouTuber and do some content creation on the monitor as well, the 100% sRGB color gamut will allow for accurate colors and you won’t have to get a second studio monitor.
When it comes to eSports titles, you will need a high-end PC to utilize the 360 Hz refresh rate to its maximum. Games look silky smooth thanks to the refresh rate and G-sync technology. If you are used to 240 Hz, you will definitely see a difference, but it’s not as big of a jump as going from 144 Hz to 240 Hz.
The Asus ROG Swift 360 Hz PG259QNR is an incredible eSports monitor that supports G-sync technology. Games look incredibly smooth and the HDR10 combined with the IPS panel brings your games and movies to life.
