This Mini PC, which runs on Windows 10 Operating System, is loaded with features that will provide hours of fun for avid gamers. This article provides a comprehensive review of its design, special features, hardware information, and will give unbiased feedback by discussing its pros and cons.

The ASUS ROG GR8 II has a design that definitely appeals to the gaming community, with a game console that has an unconventional shape – it certainly has a sci-fi appeal to it. It has a predominantly gray colour scheme with orange-coppery highlights.  It is designed to stand upright, and there are rubber stands at the bottom. However it can also be stored horizontally.

The ASUS ROG GR8 II mini PC features AURA Sync RGB lighting, which displays a limitless colour spectrum, featuring a colour palette with 8 million colours. It also has an ability to synchronize with other AURA Sync-enabled products such as the Gladius mouse and Claymore keyboards.  The ASUS Aura Sync also has 10 different lighting effects.

It also has a SupremeFX HD Audio. This superior audio system provides a 113 decibel signal-to-noise ratio, which gives the best recording quality.

The thermal chamber design is 23% quieter than other cooling systems, and it provides optimized cooling using an airflow design, dual fans, and copper heat pipes.  These features are especially during marathon gaming sessions.

For gaming connectivity, the ASUS ROG GR8 II is equipped with a total of six USB ports, two HDMI ports that can be hooked up to an HDTV for a big-screen gaming experience, and one DisplayPort. The front panel has twin USB 3.0 ports plus microphone and headphone jacks. Audio out includes S/PDIF and 3.5mm speaker connections.

The reviewed Asus ROG GR8 II ran on a high-end 7th Generation Intel Core i7-7700 processor. This ASUS model has a 16GB DDR4 RAM, 802.11 ac Wi-Fi, and 512GB M.2 SSD.  It has a memory speed of 2400MHz. It also has huge storage capacities for avid gamers’ growing game libraries.

It has an NVIDIA VR GeForce GTX 1060 graphics card, which comes fully loaded with new gaming technologies, powered by the most advanced GPU architecture, NVIDIA Pascal. Final Thoughts

The ASUS ROG GR8 II mini PC Review has pretty decent storage capacity and performance.  For avid gamers who have an extensive collection in their gaming library, this mini PC has plenty of space.  The storage is not affected by simultaneous playing on an extreme setting and editing.

Likewise, with its stellar features, including the latest NVIDIA graphics, the ASUS ROG GR8 II can handle all the latest games, especially those that offer VR technology. The ROG GR8 II also comes with plenty of connectivity options, from built-in wireless AC and Bluetooth connectivity to wired connections, it provides seamless integration into the home network.

However, the ASUS ROG GR8 II mini PC is more costly than other gaming devices such as PlayStation 4 Pro or the Xbox One S.  Though it runs on a high-end processor and has vivid NVIDIA graphics, the extra performance we come to expect from this device does come at a price. Players also need to buy premium accessories that are compatible with the device, such as Oculus Rift or HTC Vive.

With dimensions of 88mm x 299mm x 281.3mm, the ASUS ROG GR8 II mini PC is comparable in size to other gaming consoles.  However, weighing only 4 kg, it is portable enough to bring from room to room or to bring to parties.

The design of the ASUS ROG GR8 II is definitely polarizing.  Some people love its unconventional angles, while other people find it unattractive, and could not be integrated with any type of living room design.  Despite the cluttered design elements, its look definitely stands out among the competition.

The superb performance of a high-end gaming device comes at a price, but if you can very well afford it, the ROG GR8 II mini PC is miles ahead of the competition and worth every penny.
