Avoiding eye-stain is one of the most important factors for anyone who spends a considerable amount of time in front of a computer screen, and you don’t have to worry about straining your eyes with the ASUS ProArt – it’s been designed for long-term use and is lit by a network of LED’s that make it one of the best workstation screens for professional use. While the PA27AC’s IPS screen is not 3840×2160 or 4K/Ultra HD, it’s still a big improvement over 1080p with a maximum resolution of 2560×1440.
Lightweight Plug & Play Design
The ProArt PA27AC HDR is made to be lightweight enough so that you can pack it up and take it along for easy travelling – the shipped weight of the ProArt PA27AC HDR clocks in at just under 12lbs. It’s also designed to be a pleasure to look at, with a sleek, flat, borderless design that’ll look great on your desk. There’s no need to worry about an hour’s worth of setup time when you’ve just received your ProArt PA27AC model out of the box either. No more fiddling with settings for hours, or needing to install any special software: Everything you need is right there, and it’s made for plug-and-play design, so you can get right to it.
Similarly, access to controls and ports were not an issue. It’s common for some monitors to have their cables and ports located in weird places, but the ProArt PA27AC doesn’t have this common problem with access – you can find all the controls and ports located at the bottom-right underside of the TV, where it won’t get in your way even if you have several screens running at once. You can use the controls to customize pretty much every single setting that you can think of on the ProArt PA27AC, including the brightness, contrast and screen resolution – and there’s no compromising on quality, even when viewing something that requires an exceptionally clear view, like video on High Definition settings.
Settings allow for a perfect video picture that’s as close to seeing the picture unfold in real-life as you can possibly get. In addition to being able to adjust the settings of the ASUS to the finest degree, you can also adjust the physical aspects of the screen to suit your needed angle; this is invaluable for people who spend a lot of time in front of their screens and need to switch angles regularly – or just people who prefer their screen at a certain angle to work comfortably.
Note: We did have some fuzzy font issues initially on our test iMac, these were resolved via a firmware update to the monitor.
Impressive – and Huge!
The ProArt PA27AC comes with a 27-inch display for the best quality display possible, and the monitor size is large enough to accommodate the needs for most professionals – and let’s be serious for a second, size matters, at least when we’re talking about the size of your PC monitor.
The base panel takes up a little more space than you would think, but considering the size of the screen, it’s not much of an issue – and the base keeps the screen solidly anchored to the surface always. So, if you are in the market for a new screen and not needing 4K or 5K resolution, the PA27AC is one to look at.
