According to the Financial Times, Apple has commenced to “aggressively” hire talent to help with the rumoured iWatch project.
The company has begun hiring “aggressively” for the project in recent weeks, say people familiar with Apple’s plans for the wearable device, a move that shows it has stepped up development but which raises questions over the ability of its own engineers to develop wearable technology.
This along with recent patent applications for a portable wearable device is sending the rumour mill into overdrive. The search for new talent could be a sign that the device is ready for the next stage of development which means that we most likely won’t see anything official until later this year or sometime next year. With Sony already announcing their SmartWatch and others hinting at similar offerings, could watches be the next battlefield between Apple and Android?
